Creating a Montessori inspired home can be challenging and so we want to help you by creating a guide to help you begin implementing Montessori philosophies, materials, and works, slowly into your home. This article will help you in identifying what makes an activity Montessori and how you can utilize activities you already own to create Montessori work in your home.

Montessori Activities have a few main components such as being:
  • Child Directed
    • Children are able to pick which work they would like to complete based on their interests.
  • Isolate Skills/Concepts
    • Montessori works isolate one concept they would like the child to work on. For example, putting coins into a box with a slot isolates the hand eye coordination skill which builds fine motor skills.
  • Aid in Independence
    • Montessori works are scaffolded to be challenging for a child but not too difficult for them to complete. Children will work on works independently from start to finish until they have mastered them. This creates a sense of independence, pride and confidence for the child.
Montessori activities are also:
  • A Complete Activity
    • Trays will consist of all of the materials needed to complete the activity and have them all be in good condition.
  • Hands On
    • Children learn best by doing.
  • Emphasize Concentration
    • Montessori works are challenging but not too difficult so the children will work to concentrate to complete the works independently.
  • Real Life Experiences
    • Montessori utilizes realia to aid in teaching children how to utilize everyday objects.

What Our Clients Are Saying

I was so grateful to find Amici Trilingual Montessori and their sister school Beibei Amigos in North Phoenix.  The trilingual montessori setup helped my daughter expand her learning and get excited about school.  Every day I hear about her new adventures with Ms. Jessica and she is literally already trilingual!  Now I just have to catch up with my four year old.  That's a problem I'm so glad to have.  - Bridgett Hart
